Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We have been told this since we are alive.
Thinking of breakfast I always remember weekends when I was a child. This was the only day we could have breakfast in our pajamas in front of TV.
That day my mom would make special kind of bread, dipped in eggs, and we would have „white coffee“ with it. It is also known as French toast, eggy bread, gypsy toast, but we call it fried bread.
It is simple to make it. You take 2 or 3 eggs, beat it, and prepare it the same way like when you are making scrambled eggs. You take bread that you have cut in slices before and dip it in eggs.
You heat the oil and fry it from both sides. You can add cheese on it, like I did.
Don’t forget to make coffee with lot of milk and serve it as white coffee.
For me this breakfast is more than just a meal, it is a childhood memory. Now I am making same memories for my children. I hope for them too it will be a ritual that will remind them of family, childhood and relaxed atmosphere we enjoyed during our weekend gatherings.
